Medicina del Viajero

La emporiatría o medicina del viajero (travel medicine), es una especialidad médica que se dedica a la prevención de enfermedades y situaciones de riesgo a las cuales pueden verse expuestos los viajeros (independientemente del destino elegido). También se dedica al diagnóstico y tratamiento de las enfermedades adquiridas durante los viajes.

Su desarrollo en América Latina y Colombia ha tenido lugar durante las últimas dos décadas y en particular en años recientes.

Nuestro Grupo y Semillero de Investigación Salud Pública e Infección desarrolla investigación en esta gran nueva emergente área relacionada con las enfermedades infecciosas, tropicales y la salud pública.
